About Laila

Laila is a fourth-year Health Studies student minoring in Biology at York University. She is excited to gain experience in the health field and gain a better understanding of long-term care homes by learning from others.

Why did I undertake this project?

I chose to undertake this project because I felt that it’s important to translate ‘knowing’ into ‘doing’ and gain experiential learning experience. As a health studies major, I’ve learned a lot about the state of Ontario’s LTC homes and I was excited to join a project that could make a real impact in our community.
